How to create a QlikView Dashboard
With data being the crux of every business, data visualization remains the fastest evolving areas in Analytics and Data Science. With data increasing by the second, we need people who can not only visualize a huge amount of data but also communicate data-based stories to their customers. QlikView is one of the top business intelligence tools used for converting raw data into knowledge. It is extensively used for consolidating, searching, and visually analyzing data and converting it into valuable business insights. Qlikview works out as a perfect tool to start with when you want to improve your data visualization practices.
Before starting our journey with QlikView, I would like to emphasize “Why data visualization is important and how it helps the business make smarter decisions?”
A Dashboard remains a dominant feature to display values from many fields at once. Since the main purpose of data analysis is to get detailed insights at one glance, data is much more valuable when it is visualized. Choosing the right kind of dashboard also plays an important role in getting a productive output.
QlikView Dashboard Components
The dashboard is made up of several components. The different types of charts, input boxes where you input variables, selection boxes are the ones where you can make selections that automatically deactivates all the other values. Buttons are created to act easily, like forwarding, Back, Clear, etc. Some of the components are:
- Charts
- Input Boxes
- Selection Boxes
- Buttons
- Objects
- Notes & Comments

Once you complete the previous step of selecting Chart, a new window with a list of chart options appears. Select a Chart Type and click on “Next”.
